How We Work
Our Work
Consultation
To receive immigration advice or information, a client needs to book an initial consultation which can be conducted in person, by phone or by video during which we assess the client's background, qualifications, personal circumstances and evaluate their options or respond to their specific immigration-related query. This is the general consultation which lasts up to one hour. We do not do any point calculation during the initial consultation. To book a consultation, email us at info@immigratincounsels.ca.
Retainer
If following the initial consultation, a client decides to retain us for their immigration case as the authorized representatives to prepare and submit their application, a retainer agreement will be signed between the client and the Immigration Counsels of Canada (ICC) which specifies the scope of services, payment plan, duties and responsibilities of both parties.
Case Preparation
This stage includes: providing a client with a complete list of documents required for their application, filling out immigration forms by the company staff, providing a client with medical examination and police clearance instructions.
Submissions
Once the application package is checked for completeness, our counsel will prepare a submission letter to immigration authorities presenting a client's case with reference to the applicable immigration/citizenship law sections and, in certain cases, on the basis of the relevant immigration case law. The application package is then submitted by the Immigration Counsels of Canada (ICC) to the immigration office on the client's behalf.
Follow-Up
After submission, we communicate with a visa office regarding the status of a client's application, responding to the officer’s requests for additional information, documentation and, if required, obtain copies of the immigration officer’s notes in order to get a clear picture of the file processing. We keep our clients informed at all times during the process.
Interview Preparation
Should an interview with the immigration officer be required, we thoroughly prepare a client for the interview by going through the possible questions and making them confident for the upcoming proceedings during this personal coaching.
Fees
For an initial consultation, a flat hourly fee of $150.00 CAD applies. The initial consultation fee will be credited towards the retainer fee for a client's immigration case if retained for full services after the first consultation. The flat retainer fee applies if retained for a case (fee varies according to the complexity of each individual case. Retainer fee is estimated during the initial consultation). If following the initial consultation, a client decides to proceed with hourly consultations instead, a flat hourly fee of $200.00 CAD applies for subsequent consultations. The flat hourly fee to review a self-prepared application/profile is $400.00 CAD (length of such consultation depends on the completeness of a client’s file. For most cases, a one-hour consultation is sufficient).
